Yes, Americans as a whole are wasteful and selfish. I wish people would get smart and stop spreading their legs. We don't need a population increase; we need a population DECREASE. We don't have a huge population, but we have a greedy population that consumes more resources than any other country in the world. I wish we would stop being so pc and start some kind of mandatory population control. If more people decided to go green, even in some ways, it would really help, but people are going to keep on using and using, and ironically, will end up hurting the human race BIGTIME.If every country lived the way we americans do the world would run out of oil food space work in a year agree?
I think God gave us an adequate amount of natural resources to support life on earth comfortably. The trick is in the proper utilization of those resources. The sad thing is that the rest of the world sees how we live. Most people are packing at least a few extra pounds. We have the latest cars, gadgets and addictions. Meanwhile, people in the rest of the world are starving. It's no small wonder that they think of us as selfish and spoiled. Most of us just change the channel when a ';Feed the Children'; commercial appears on our TV's. We should be leading the world in alleviating poverty both at home and abroad. Instead, we're pigs.
NO IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. BESIDES YOU COULD PUT EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD IN A HOUSE IN TEXAS AND STILL HAVE ROOM LEFT OVER. AS FOR FOOD WE GIVE AWAY ENOUGH FOOD EACH YEAR TO FEED THE WHOLE WORLD. I DOUBT THAT THE WHOLE WORLD COULD USE ALL OF THE OIL UP IN ONE YEAR YOU MUST BE A LIBERAL OBAMA BACKER THAT HUGS TREES EACH DAY INSTEAD OF YOUR KIDS. MR DOODLES
china lives almost the way we do. what we dont have going for us is the texas oil man that we have for our president. everyone in the government is just out to get richer and make SOOOO much of a profit. this government doesnt care about its ppl. other countries do
I like the way we live. Most of the people in the world do, too. That's why so many come here and why there's a wating list to get in legally (not to mention the millions that are here illegally).
I agree with that, I think it is because some Americans are wasteful with their spending and consumption. Not all Americans but some.
Considering the USA has 4% of the world's population but consumes 25% of the world's annual production - what do you think!?!?
I'm not sure how long it would take to run the Earth's resources dry, but I do know that the Earth couldn't sustain everyone living how Americans or Canadians do.
