My car just started to burn oil? how long is it gonna live?

its a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant 130k miles, 2 weeks ago it i put 1 quart of oil, now the oil light is on again, 1 more quart needed. I use the car for commuting, around 70 miles daily driven... still 2 weeks... 1 quart, kindof a lot to me. How long before the engine is done?My car just started to burn oil? how long is it gonna live?
A quart every 2 weeks is bad but not really bad.

Check your oil at each time(or at least every other time) you get fuel. Don't use the oil light as a sign.

Start saving up for a rebuild. And try as hard as you can not to ';get on it hard';.

You do these things and you should have a few months if not more.

This is a lot of oil either going up in smoke or leaking. When you move your car do you leave a leak spot on the pavement or garage floor (leak)? Does the car smoke a lot as you drive? The latter indicates wear and the way you drive will determine how long your engine lasts. If the engine compartment is covered in oil I'd strongly recommend you look for a replacement vehicle next week.
Make sure it is not a leak that is easy to fix. or a clogged bypass filter.

Sometimes it is a bad oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket bolt. easy to fix.
until you stop putting oil in it. a car can run like that indefinitely as long as you keep oil in it (70's and earlier cars ALL burnt oil like that)
If your oil light is coming on, it probably needs two quarts of oil not one. That's been my experience any way. Are you sure it's not leaking? If the rear main seal is leaking it could be running into the trans and your not noticing the drip. If it is smoking when is it smoking the most? When your running down the road normally, when your tromp on it, or just when you first start it in the morning? You don't have many miles for the rings to be bad unless it was driven really hard. If its rings you may get another 15k if your lucky, if it's valve stem seals it could go a long time but you will have to clean your spark plugs every so often.
Have you double checked the dip-stick? Because if it's not putting oil out the exhaust it has to be going somewhere. Check your anti-freeze as well. If there's oil in your anti-freeze or vise versa then you may have a blown head gasket.
