In 75 years what will the world oil situation be like? Will we be living like the Amish?

I suspect we will be all living much like the Amish in 75 years. Or at least like we did before the fuel oil era. We'd better dust off books on how to live life in the 1800'sIn 75 years what will the world oil situation be like? Will we be living like the Amish?
nope we will be living like the jetsons...we are human and we always adapt and overcome...we will survive long past the the depletion of our oilIn 75 years what will the world oil situation be like? Will we be living like the Amish?
Oil will run out but I don't think we will be living like the Amish.

People are already doveloping cars that don't run on petrol and things like nuclear power and solar power have been around for a while now. It's just that politicians are more concerned about tearing their opponents down and winning votes than they are about genuinely putting effort into running their counties on renewable resources. They will realize but not until the 11th hour when they themselves are personally affected by the problem.
no, that is a perpostperous prediction. Yes, the oil in the Persian Gulf is estimated to run out in like 50 years, but alternitive forms of energy are being developed like wind, solar, and hydrogen. In 75 years there is no doubt our understanding of these technologies will be great, so we will be able to rely on them, and not have to live like the Amish.
Hey, hey, hey....I'm related to some Amish peeps - they rock to their own cool tune. :D

  • Why would we die if we lived on bread, water, sugar, & olive oil for 90 days besides the lack of Vitamin C?

Only 90 days? You wont have any survival trouble, lack of minerals and vitamins affect you after years I think. Why would we die if we lived on bread, water, sugar, %26amp; olive oil for 90 days besides the lack of Vitamin C?
Bread and water used to be the diet of religious people that were fasting. Also some prisoners back hundreds of years ago were only fed bread and water for extended periods of time. I belive a human being might last six months of such a diet before falling ill and needing more nutrients in his or her diet. But a lack of protein and other vital nutrients passing along the enzymes to the cells in the body could cause death by basically the cells in your body not getting the right nutrients. I believe it would put too much of a strain on all the muscles in your body and your heart. Why would we die if we lived on bread, water, sugar, %26amp; olive oil for 90 days besides the lack of Vitamin C?
    You would probably live:

The lack of a complete protein is a problem.

It also depends on the type of bread.

    You would perhaps suffer:

    Scurvy

    Kwashiorkor

    Edema
I don't think we would, long as we had those things. It would be food, after all. But we would have to have water, too. We couldn't go with out water, very long.
Because there is no proteins listed in your diet. Human body cannot synthesize all 20 amino acids but it must supply some of them from external sources. And the enzymes or hormones which contains these essential amino acids could not be made if not taken from outside. Eventually your entire system will start to malfunction.
    Boredom.
    you wouldn't
You wouldn't die. But you wouldn't feel very well. Enzymes are the little machines that do work for your body; send signals, digest food, etc.. They are made of proteins and you need to eat proteins in order to make new enzymes. Enzymes also need vitamin and mineral cofactors to work. At the end of 90 days you would not feel very well and your body would have started to eat its own muscle to scavange for protein. Sounds good if you're trying to lose weight until you realize that your heart is a muscle. Your brain is more important in the chain of command in your body and it will eat your heart in order to survive. Sick huh?

Check out any local health food stores, food cooperatives, and new-age shops. I'm pretty certain there are several in your general area.

Unfortunately most oils carried by places like Bath and BodyWorks are called ';Fragrance Oils'; and are not true essential oils. If used as essential oils, they can make you sick.I would like to buy essential oils from a store in my area I live in the McHenry ILL can you help me?
Body Works or Body Shop should have them at the local mall. If you bought them online, you can probably find them a lot cheaper.

    I buy mine from wwww.bodytime.com

They are a bit pricey but they give you size options on the bottles which is always nice.

No, you can only do that with diesels.
    Don't bother.
if it is a diesel you can probably do that if you have some smarts to ya. but if you have a gasoline motor i suggest not on trying that option.

What's it like living on a North Sea Oil Rig?

first of all its a wake up at 6 o clock for a 7am start, unless you are on the drilling side then its a 6am start. its a 12 hour shift for 14 days with no ';weekends off';, every day is a work day, inc. bank holidays which also inc. xmas and new year, (remember you still need gas to cook your xmas dinner!!!)you normally get a cup of tea mid morn and 1 hour for dinner and a cup of tea in the afternoon and work your 12 hour shift till 7pm. if you are an office worker its feasible you would,nt get fresh air for 14 days as you can,t just wander about as you please outside.its dirty on the rig itself, and plenty of walking up and down stairs.you sleep in a 8ft x 8ft room in bunks, (lucky if you get the bottom) and take turns in the shower. you ';agree';聽 on what tv progs you watch or go to the rec room where there is usually pool/darts /tv/cardssometimes its communal showers on drilling rigs and stable door toiletsthe food isnt brilliant bur theres plenty of it unless its the winter and the supply boats cant get out cos the weather is too bad, then your on short supply, water as well, until it breaksits not all doom and gloom as the crack is great and its everlasting friendships and really you only do it for the time off, the whole north sea is gradually going 2 on 3 off for core crew.all in all its a lonely life and the pay, although not great isnt bad for the time off you get, the worst part is the chopper ride out聽 as its noisy and crampped. What's it like living on a North Sea Oil Rig?

Best motor oil for 1978 CB 750 SS with high mileage living in a hot big city?

Ok everyone the site is 2 for 2 with some excellent answers so here is a new one. I have heard the following recommendations some my own鈥?synthetic blend / straight weight oil / and standard grade 20-50 which is in it now. I go against straight synthetic for this bike as I believe oil devoid of paraffin and this motor would not do well together as the motor has no idea that synthetic oil even exists. I am looking for a cooler motor / better shifting and easier clutch pull when the bike is hot.

Thanks!Best motor oil for 1978 CB 750 SS with high mileage living in a hot big city?
I used to work for a Harley Dealership as a technician. Personally, I always went with dealer brand oil for the the bike. The engineers know what ur bike needs and has the manufature put the additives that keep that bike running forever. I've never liked straight synthetic if u have alot of miles on it, u better stick with conventional. If not, u will get oil blow-by. Which is when the oil is so thin it blows by the piston and gets into the combustion chamber.

Back in the 70's When they built a engine it had alot more ';slop'; in it then today's engines. back then if it was off by 100th of an inch ';who cares'; thats as good as they could read. Now, we go down to the 1,000th of an ich, sometimes 10,000 of an inch. Thats why today's engines can rev alot higher.

So, which that said, even a synthetic blend can get so thin that it will be in areas it shouldn't be on a 70's engine. So if u want the longest running life out of ur engine, pull out the service manual see what it requires and use it.

Also, if ur clutch is hard to pull, get ur clutch serviced. Thats normally a sign of a worn throwout bearing or the clutch basket notches are worn out and allowing the clutch disc's to bind.Best motor oil for 1978 CB 750 SS with high mileage living in a hot big city?
My friend the best Honda brand. But you'll just need to change it out about every thousand. Some of the things your trying to counter with oil can only come from replacing old parts with new ones. Your old CB may not fit a latter concept of Smooth running as technology was much different then.

The CB is a great bike excepting her nuances is part riding a classic bike! Have fun!
I've owned, built, rebuilt CB750. Your right about the synthectic. I've always used regular 20-50 for those motors. Never had one fail. AND never EVER use that slick 50 crap. It leaves teflon deposits in you sump that if enough build up will clog you oil screen and passages (which are alot smaller on a motorcycle engine.

For the clutch you need to upgrade from the stock unit. Those never lasted very well on the 750. They really were underdesigned for the power of the engine at the time.
Have you considered using the standard oil %26amp; adding something like ';slick50'; these additives reduce friction in the motor %26amp; therefore heat... they are compatable with wet clutches as the additive only sticks to the metal surfaces...

If you go on the net %26amp; look it seems that the PTFE in slick50 will coat the internals of the engine... but from the information avaliable I would only use it on an engine that has very high milage.. the consenses of opinion seems to be that SYNTHETIC oil is of far more benefit ,, even for old engines..
    lucas
I rode an old GS-500 with 50000km on it. When I first changed the oil I wanted to use quality synthetic oil, but was advised to continue to use a standard grade mineral oil. This was because the mineral oil that the bike had previously been running on leaves a mineral residue through out the motor and when synthetic oil is introduced it can dislodge these settlements of residue and therefore reduce the motors performance.

I'd recommend a quality standard mineral oil (that won't burn easterly with city riding). Synthetic oils are mainly for track bikes that run at top rpm's and for bikes that have been running of synthetics from the get-go.

    Hope that helps:-)

Because earth is a living thing-could oil be considered it's blood-if so any harm by us replacing oil w/ sand?

i liked C taylor answer. Slim, you gotta tone it down. Your somewhat educational, but you also have a closed mind. A more creative mind would wonder about things like seismic activity and the grind of tectonic plates. Couldn't it be possibly to see the Earth as an organism? And couldn't this organism produce its own natural lubricant to minimize grinding of its internal structure? We humans have cartiledge and synovial fluids between all our bone joints. Lets say we replace the cartiledge and synovial fluid between the bone joints in your hand with sand. How would this make you feel? Would you still retain use of your hand?

You seem to be an educated man, albeit with a closed mind. Perhaps you could enlighten us on the correlation between areas of the world with high seismic activity and areas or the world such as the Middle East or Texas? I am not trying to be a wise ***, i just want this question answered once and for all. Are we increasing the likelyhood of sudden tectonic plate shift by reducing the Earths upper mantles supply of petroleum oilBecause earth is a living thing-could oil be considered it's blood-if so any harm by us replacing oil w/ sand?
Not necessarily the case. If you're looking and the plants and life on earth then okay. But the earth is made mostly of rock. Blood cells are live, but oil is made of dead animals under high pressure!Because earth is a living thing-could oil be considered it's blood-if so any harm by us replacing oil w/ sand?
That's an interesting thought, but i don't think that it works that way
Well the way gasoline prices keep going up we may see a run on the local taverns to get alcohol for getting around lol
if earth was a living thing oil would not be its blood

    it would be lava

blood has to be insde of you

plus lava renues the earth; oil harms it

    hope this helps
first of all earth isnt a living thing thus oil couldnt be considered its blood, and yes there is harm replacing sand with oil, if more oil starts developing and there is sand there then the sand will absorb all the oil therefore making us have to pay more for oil.
The earth is a living organism, but not in the way we consider things to be alive. It is alive in that it responds to environmental changes, such as when it was young it had a poisonous atmosphere, however, over the eons, bacteria and plants added gases to change the climate, add nitrogen and other greenhouse gases and warm up the planet, slowly adding more oxygen, etc. Then this sets off a domino effect, response follows response almost as if it were a living organism.
the reason earth is referred to as a living organism is because like actual organisms, it has different systems which feed off one another. it has needs, and also has the capacity to correct any that arent met. for example, ice ages are the result of global warming.. earth gets too hot and has to cool itself down. (it doesnt actually work like that, but in a nut shell.. atmosphere warms up, glaciers melt, more of the planet is covered in water, planet doesnt absorb as much heat at surface, atmosphere temperature drops, ice age begins, more glaciers are created, process repeats itself) anyways, thats the way the whole planet works. including oil. just because we are running short on it right now, a few hundred or even thousand years from now oil will again be all over the surface of the earth, because the oil leftovers arent floating off into space. the exhaust from our cars for example is just going up into the atmosphere. it will eventually come back down to earth and make its way back into the ground. the only way we could actually change the earth perminantly is if we somehow blasted a giant proportion of the earths resources into space.. and it wasnt able to correct itself back to its original form because it didnt have the materials to do so. otherwise - earth will be okay, lets worry about us.
    One word -- No.

I find it unfortunate the pot smoking Gaia worshippers seem to be so predominantly stupid.

Oil is a by product of plant decomposition, it is not blood.

It will not be replaced by sand, the amount of ';oil and oil products'; taken from the earth is a minimal part of the crust material, to the tune of about 1-1,000,000th of the crust material is contained. (1ppm) in terms idiots can understand.

Oil in material is general locked up in sands and often is mixed with Salt H20. So essentially voids from removal of oil does not occur.

The arrogance of ecowhacks is amazing to me. Each ecowhack ought to take a course or two in geology and petrology before they inflict people with their idiosy on a message board like this.
everything we do affects the earth and it's atmosphere in either a positive or negative way, it's better to fill it with sand then to leave an empty hole in the ground which could collapse or cave in and bring millions of dollars worth of structures down with it!
Oh no! Don't say that! I will never use oil again if you start talking like that.
You know, one day we may find that petroleum from deep in the earth has a very important role in the earth's internal dynamics, and removing it would cause some catastrophic event.

Definitely, burning fossil fuels is causing catastrophic global warming.
oil would not be considered its blood. Earth is a rock, with living things ON it.
Anthropomorphism: treating inanimate objects like animate objects.
    Share!
Only a finite supply of sand so the replacement of oil with sand is rather illogical.

    http://sorenson.blogspot.com
I would actually say that filling in Oil deposits with sand or some other sort of soil would actually make the ground around the well a lot safer. Oil forms in porous rocks that are very weak unless filled with a fluid -oil- If these sites are not properly fille din with sand then the gound will collapse. In fact the sand infill if properly designed could ever be safer than the origional oil deposit

As for burning all the stuff and putting it into our atmosphere that is another question
Your premise that the earth is a living thing, unfortunately, is wrong. Although the earth appears to be a living entity, it does not meet the definition of life.
earth isn't a living thing, it has just has us running around on its skin. so no, oil is not the blood of the earth, just the lifeblood of the bush administration (ooo, burn....)

Why are Young Living Essential Oils so effective in natural healing?

My friends and relatives use them all the time. It's the first thing we reach for in an emergency. It's a shame the big drug makers can't come up with something comparable without all those nasty side effects. Why are Young Living Essential Oils so effective in natural healing?
Gary Young is an uneducated huckster with a track record of arrests for health fraud. He has repeatedly inflated and falsified his education and credentials. His inability to recognize the limits of his knowledge and training contributed to the death of his own child. Sherman Johnson, M.D., medical director of The Young Life Research Clinic, deliberately administered a lethal dose of narcotics to a long-time friend, and then attempted to cover his actions by falsifying the death certificate. There is no reason to believe that either Young or Johnson has sufficient judgment, skill, or ethics to appropriately care for seriously ill patients. Young Living's essential oils cannot treat or cure any medical illness.

Patients visiting the Young Life Research clinic can waste large sums of money on worthless treatments, and will gain only false hope. Patients risk being guided away from effective legitimate medical treatments. At best, their life will be needlessly complicated by the prescription of elaborate irrational regimens requiring overpriced products sold only by Young Living. At worst, patients may suffer direct harm from the misuse of essential oils and other dubious treatments.

Treatment at the Young Life Research Clinic seems unwise and expensive. Proper medical care can be obtained elsewhere from legitimately educated, licensed, and experienced health care providers.

Raindrop Therapy is potentially unsafe. Essential oils for aromatherapy use are available from many suppliers do not make ridiculous claims and whose prices are not inflated by dubious multilevel marketing practices.

Please check out this website, which gives a complete history of this man and his products, etc. http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/young.ht鈥?/a>Why are Young Living Essential Oils so effective in natural healing?
Essential oils are very powerful and would put drug companies out of business if fully utilized by everyone. The difficulty is that oils vary in quality and reliability. So people have varied results. Also, no one receives good instruction on how to use them wisely.

http://www.tisserand.com/ has better oils and cheaper.

Note: Young living oils was wonderful until his wife sucked him into the Multi Level marketing hell (I mean that literally) bloated prices, egos and marketing that distorts. I imagine they will compromise themselves to reach a larger secular market and slowly and subtly pull his product away from the Christian roots it was based on. Yes I think multi level marketing typically relies on socialist type promises to use people, after 5 years you will see what I mean. Sorry for sharp honesty, because I really know how important and key to health Essential Oils are.

This would depend on the current draw of each device. they are rated in BTU or BTUH. BTU is a British Thermal Unit. Assuming they are the same rating in BTU, the other thing to consider is the type of heat they put out. The oil filled device will radiate the heat to the air. I think the Quartz device heats physical objects, via infra red heat. I have used both, the radiator will heat the whole room up eventually, but the I don't the quartz device will. What costs you for the energy is, current draw or Watts. If it were me and the BTU and the Watt rating were about the same, I would go with the oil filled unit.Which portable is cheaper to warm my living room only..electric oil radiator or electric quartz? thanks!?

Can living near oil refineries make us sick?

We moved to a city in california 5 years ago. There are many oil refineries near our house (east bay, california). I was never sick before moving here, and now it seems that our entire family of 5 is constantly feeling fatigued, achy, tired, run down, and constantly picking up colds/flu's/etc. all the time. It seems that one or all of us are always sick. I gave birth to our last child right after we moved to this town and he has suffered from allergies and severe asthma all of his life (none of the rest of us have ever suffered from these things before...just him). Our immune systems seem to be low. I frequently have headaches and I have been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome since moving here. We didn't move far, as we lived in this general area before...20 min. away. I wake up at night sometimes smelling this awful burning oil smell seeping through our windows. When I go outside in the morning sometimes I can still smell the awful smell.

I am beginning to wonder if these oil refineries and whatever toxins they release could be causing all 5 of us (36, 35, 12, 6, 4) to be feeling so awful all the time.

This characteristic behavior of oil and water is of critical importance for living things, determining many properties of the cell. Can you explain how? This characteristic behavior of oil and water is of critical importance for living things, determining...?
Probably the hydrophobic nature of oil molecules. This behavior is part of the mechanism in the function of cell membranes. Without it, the cell wall could not keep what's inside the cell in, and what's outside the cell out.

Maybe not a year, but certainly much quicker. If every country lived the way we americans do the world would run out of oil food space work in a year agree?
Yes, Americans as a whole are wasteful and selfish. I wish people would get smart and stop spreading their legs. We don't need a population increase; we need a population DECREASE. We don't have a huge population, but we have a greedy population that consumes more resources than any other country in the world. I wish we would stop being so pc and start some kind of mandatory population control. If more people decided to go green, even in some ways, it would really help, but people are going to keep on using and using, and ironically, will end up hurting the human race BIGTIME.If every country lived the way we americans do the world would run out of oil food space work in a year agree?
I think God gave us an adequate amount of natural resources to support life on earth comfortably. The trick is in the proper utilization of those resources. The sad thing is that the rest of the world sees how we live. Most people are packing at least a few extra pounds. We have the latest cars, gadgets and addictions. Meanwhile, people in the rest of the world are starving. It's no small wonder that they think of us as selfish and spoiled. Most of us just change the channel when a ';Feed the Children'; commercial appears on our TV's. We should be leading the world in alleviating poverty both at home and abroad. Instead, we're pigs.
NO IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. BESIDES YOU COULD PUT EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD IN A HOUSE IN TEXAS AND STILL HAVE ROOM LEFT OVER. AS FOR FOOD WE GIVE AWAY ENOUGH FOOD EACH YEAR TO FEED THE WHOLE WORLD. I DOUBT THAT THE WHOLE WORLD COULD USE ALL OF THE OIL UP IN ONE YEAR YOU MUST BE A LIBERAL OBAMA BACKER THAT HUGS TREES EACH DAY INSTEAD OF YOUR KIDS. MR DOODLES
china lives almost the way we do. what we dont have going for us is the texas oil man that we have for our president. everyone in the government is just out to get richer and make SOOOO much of a profit. this government doesnt care about its ppl. other countries do
I like the way we live. Most of the people in the world do, too. That's why so many come here and why there's a wating list to get in legally (not to mention the millions that are here illegally).
I agree with that, I think it is because some Americans are wasteful with their spending and consumption. Not all Americans but some.
Considering the USA has 4% of the world's population but consumes 25% of the world's annual production - what do you think!?!?
I'm not sure how long it would take to run the Earth's resources dry, but I do know that the Earth couldn't sustain everyone living how Americans or Canadians do.
if they produced food like we do, that would not be a problem.

Nor do I see space as a problem

Fresh water is what I would worry about the most
    no. we could stop burying our garbage and let people pick thru it. there is enough food and other useful items tossed out to keep americans going for ever;;
    Agree.
i totally agree. i watched this thing ind it said that if china lived the way we did that we would run out of oil in like a year
    agree
i dont think so if all the chinese people in the world drove cars we would be screwed on gasoline though. not space or food
    I agree!!
Not only that, but it would take 6 more planet Earths for everyone to consume as much as we do.
there are many countries like china, India who use up more resources than the USA . so i have to disagree
    definately
lol yeah. sadly I would have to agree.
Let's see some real stats on this please.
    Yes lol
    Its on the way
yes .its a shame that it is true.

Trees and other living things make oil, is nature stupid then?

What a pointless question. I think you need to look up some things about Carbon cycles etc, that seems to be what you are hinting at.

Nature must be stupid - it made YOU!Trees and other living things make oil, is nature stupid then?
No, the only stupids ones are people who don't understand the way nature works.

Something about your questions cought my attention:

    ';Are earthquakes and oil connected?';

    ';Trees and other living things make oil, is nature stupid then?';

    ';Does the human race think oil that has driven industry is just there in the earth for no apparent reason?';

What are you trying to say?Trees and other living things make oil, is nature stupid then?
Perhaps you can try an experiment burry yourself in the ground and get someone to unbury your corps in a thousand years and see if it has turned in to oil.

And stupid is a term used to describe people like you
i don't think it is stupid as u said rather the plant produce oil for their own physiological need and for the sake of fostering their fitness.
if something makes oil y is it stupid?

according to you everybody is stupid because we all make a type of oil internally xD
Oil have to think about that one.
    What are you talking about!?

What are the living conditions on oil rigs?

Its smaller than regular barracks, but roomier than a submarine. The work is dirty and done in 12 hour shifts...12 on and 12 off...

The food is excellent with large portions. I'm sure that some rigs are nicer than others. The harder work is on 'drilling rigs'. 'Production rigs' are easier. What are the living conditions on oil rigs?
none you die thereWhat are the living conditions on oil rigs?
The work is hard (and long) the food is GREAT, and there is a ton of excellent gay sex.
Do you really want to know?
It really depends on where in Alberta you work. Accommodations if they can be called that are tiny - and hopefully you don't have to share with a roomie who is on the opposite shift.

There are barrack type accommodation, apartment style (these are the ones everyone want and only a few get) trailers that are cold and draftee and then there are the place you need to find yourself - hotel room if you can find one - your rv, tent or vehicle. Oh, watch out for the other workers - there are some who show no mercy to newbies. Good Luck

Hasn't the oil based economy provided a standard of living unknown in human history?

...CHG...Hasn't the oil based economy provided a standard of living unknown in human history?
Yes, it has.Hasn't the oil based economy provided a standard of living unknown in human history?
Indeed. The end of all life on the planet will be a small price to pay.
    yes

that's why ';Peak Oil'; is so damn scary

America is great because of cheap oil/coal. How quickly will 0bama & Dems ruin our standard of living?

Cheap energy has powered our growth, obozo and the rest of the idiots in charge at the moment are looking to put a serious crimp on that growth to fund their socialist agenda.America is great because of cheap oil/coal. How quickly will 0bama %26amp; Dems ruin our standard of living?
Obama and co. wont ruin your standard of living, they are just going to help you control your spending.

If your standard of living is beyond your income, any economic hiccup is going to wobble your balance sheet.

Don't blame Obama if your credit card statements reflect a balance that would make the devil himself squirm.

And that, my friend, is why the US is great - a free run of credit for everybody. Perhaps congress should change the right to bear arms to the right to get credit.America is great because of cheap oil/coal. How quickly will 0bama %26amp; Dems ruin our standard of living?
It's already started......when Obama okayed over a Trillion dollar

debt for this nation. He could have cut out ALL that pork from his

Congressmen, but he didn't even try. This is the biggest amount

ever in the History of the USA. This amount is just unacceptable. Our standard is already ruined. What a shame.
i'd say about another week, they're not quite done yet, although the devastation has been so thorough in the first 100 days there's still a little more damage to be done. any of you obama voters have buyers remorse yet?
    ';America is great because of cheap oil/coal.';

ah, that's what makes america great, and there was me thinking that it was something stupid like arrogance!
So America is no better than a third world country in the middle east?

    You're quite the intellectual.
    Ignorance is bliss!

    2pts!
    What'chu talkin' about, Willis?

Oil wasn't cheap when Bush was President.
As quickly as they can, that way the takeover will be ';easy';.
Poor cons so out of touch with reality.
not as quick as dumbo George
    10,000 years
faster then jessie jackson can play the race card.

    Hello

I am a certified aromatherapist. Please do not use ANY oil on this new kitten! Essential Oils can kill them! Kittens can not metabolize essential oils like dogs and humans can.

Please take the little tyke to a vet. Get his eyes treated and get him/her dewormed.

Momzrckz, if you don't have a source in your area, the next best thing is to order what you need by mail order. Most websites will have a bigger selection that you'd normally find in a brick and mortar store.

BTW, thanks for marking my answer as the best. Good luck. Report Abuse

Who increases the oil prices which are increased the cost of living of every person in the world?

    1 Year Forecast $158.50 / Barrel

If the prices of every goods are going to keep increasing in the next one year, what happens to common man. Who is getting the benifit of this oil.Who increases the oil prices which are increased the cost of living of every person in the world?
Politicians are blame for the increase in prices and they already got the benefits. I think not every country in the world has the increase in oil price, for ex. Arabian countries. We have plenty source of oil, but politicians not allowing to dig the oil out.

    3. The characteristic behavior of water and oil is of critical importance for living things, determining many?

Oil and water -- the yin and yang of life. The interaction of oil and water is indeed critical to life. In addition to many metabolic processes in an organism, the oil/water relationship is necessary for cell integrity. A cell membrane is composed of non-polar phospholipids (essentially oil), and the contents within that membrane is almost entirely water, which is polar. The repulsion of water and oil here is critical -- otherwise water, the ';universal solvent,'; would dissolve its membrane, and cells would not be possible.

Furthermore, many neat things happen entirely within the cell membrane (check into proton pumps, receptor proteins, and ';G Proteins'; for examples). :Likewise, many reactions occur within the water-based cytoplasm. By having two distinct environments in a single cell (polar environments and non-polar environments), a cell can function in both an intercellular and intracellular fashion: The cell membranes, non-polar environments, can interact with one another due to their chemical sililarity. This facilitates the INTERcellular processes. The isolated polar (water-based) environments, facilitate INTRAcellular processes.

Water/oil. Polar/Non-polar. Yin/Yang. This is one of the most critical balances in biology!

Oil price went up, cost of living went up?Now oil price reduced, still cost of living did not go down why?

Whenever crude oil price go up, we can see the cost of living going up drastically in every segment. Now that crude oil price has fallen to 1/2, how come cost of living still the same. Don't you think it should have come down.

Whether oil price go up or down, why common man always get the hit.

Who is playing games here. Why we face these problems. Oil price went up, cost of living went up?Now oil price reduced, still cost of living did not go down why?
What goes up will never come down.

Hungry governments and greedy politicians. It is a vicious cycle. Even oil prices are not steady. But let us hope something will happen. Oil price went up, cost of living went up?Now oil price reduced, still cost of living did not go down why?
    Since public memory is short

Politicians %26amp; Bureaucrats take them for granted - since they often will not pay for their commodities.

    Comman man - silent victim.
Because the hand that takes from the poor has never been broken it has only received a slap and that did not sting at all.
America is playing the game. They want us to pay for their loses.

Are most people living in industrialized nations reluctant to believe that oil will run out & not be replaced?

Oil and gas will run out, there is a finite amount on the planet, and green and nuclear alternatives are not going to be scaleable to current use. Many people will be forced into lower energy ways of living, not make the choice on their own because it's the right thing to do.Are most people living in industrialized nations reluctant to believe that oil will run out %26amp; not be replaced?
I won't say ALL people in ALL industrialized nations are in denial, but a majority in the USA are in denial. The fact that the days of cheap oil are already over is just one of a series of truths that a great percentage of the American public is willing to ignore in order to maintain it's current lifestyle. Global warming and the HUGE trade, government and PERSONAL debt are all being ignored as if tomorrow will never come. The 'media,' funded by large corporations, will encourage consumption above all. Exxon funds the biggest 'think tank' that puts out propaganda denying the existence of global warming. The USA has a NEGATIVE savings rate. Is this the sign of a country that is planning ahead? Of course it isn't.

Yes, there will come a time when the debts will have to be paid, and I believe it has already begun. Look at the 'subprime' mortgage situation. Look at insurance rates in Florida. How bad will it get? Time will tell. Are most people living in industrialized nations reluctant to believe that oil will run out %26amp; not be replaced?
The SAD reality IS, people DON'T want to KNOW that the World's oil supplies are running out. They just don't care. As LONG as they have enough to drive their oversized ';tanks'; wherever they want them to go- what's going on anywhere ELSE in the World, doesn't matter. It's GOING to start costing us BIG TIME- soon, though... The way China is swallowing up IT'S ';share'; of the Oil Supply- I think we can all count on gas being $10. a Gallon- by 2015 or so. Count on it!!!
As high as the price of gasoline is, as much as the new SUV's are and use, they will still complain but, will pay the price.

I saw a man that filled his tank yesterday, he paid forty dollars for the gas, then he bought four cartons of cigarettes for $200.00 such as the American way of life. we will indulge ourselves and our habits however extreme until there is nothing left, we will complain until the shelves are empty.

We're a spoiled people. Many of us have been brought up under the old school with parents from the depression era. We have been taught to ';tighten our belts'; but, what about the younger ones?

If you live near a lake. I've seen these guys complain about what they paid for gas, then launch a big boat that uses up more gas in one afternoon of fishing then he does in one month of going to work, the SUV he drives uses more gas then any car ever built in the past but, you know what, we'll continue to live this way and keep complaining but, we won't change.

The people that are feeling it are the seniors, the ones on a fixed budget, the young ones that can't find good jobs, people in these categories while the higher waged people will continue to feel they have a right o live their way regardless what is going on in this country. Such is America.
For the past twenty years we have used more oils then the newly discovered reserves in the same amount of time. In a way this is good. The free market will finally get us off the oil addiction we are junkies to.
It doesn't matter; there are already many alternatives. They are just too expensive now. In the next hundred years, as oil runs out, it too will increase in price until the new methods are cheaper. The world goes on.
i'm not reluctant to believe that its eventually going to end, but...

    when it comes to energy, i think most people take the perspective of ';well, we'll figure it out when we get there';

Should i use 5w-20 oil living in the mountains?

i use 85 octane gas hereShould i use 5w-20 oil living in the mountains?
been driving over 40 yrs ive never used anything under 5w30 an dwhere i once live would get down 30 below an dit doesnt have much to do with anything about what fuel you using i wouldnt use it unless it stays below 30 or 40 below al lthe time sure that would help but what about times when its in the 80's not so great thenShould i use 5w-20 oil living in the mountains?
The owners manual will either say use only 5w-20 or have a chart based on expected temps. Go with what the manual says. My 05 dodge with the Hemi says 5w20 period so thats what I use. I believe Ford also has many engines that are supposed to only run 5w20 also.
The recommended oil viscosity depends on temperature, not altitude. Use what's recommended in your owners manual.
Still have the original oil cap? It tells you right there what is the recommended viscosity (aka weight) is.

  • Are we living the old 70's Fram oil filter commercial?

In the commercial, a mechanic in grease stained overalls is standing in a junk yard next to a car with a burned out motor. Holding a Fram oil filter, the mechanic says,

    ';You can pay me now, or you can pay me later.';

The message being you can pay a small price to fix something early on, or an enormous price to fix it later. I knew this in my job, and all businesses leaders know this adage, so why are we in this mess? Are we living the old 70's Fram oil filter commercial?
Only the people living now are the ones voting though. The ones who will have to pay later, aren't living so they don't get votes.

The fact is that spending now to prevent rather than spending more later to cure is always going to be the harder argument to make. So, until we drag our political discourse out from the mud, we will always be a pay later society. Are we living the old 70's Fram oil filter commercial?
The 3 U.S. auto makers forgot how to design and build a car that U.S. consumers would buy. Yet, some feel that the tax payers should flip the tab for their inability to produce a product that isn't over priced and under performing of imports. But like the Fram commercial.....you can pay them now for a piece of crap, or you can pay them later for something worth buying. In the meantime, what model of car sits in your driveway?

    I rest my case.
yes, you can pay the UAW now or pay the UAW later since they own Obama and Pelosi
Exactly, and the average American who didn't know this was allowed to fail like they should. But in our country, the wealthy elites get handouts from the tax payers.
I for one am living in that exact commercial in a different dimension.
Because politicians want us to pay them now AND later.
im just glad that bailout worked so well.the company my brother works for, thier stock is at 8 bucks, august 1st it was 60.he wonders why he cant sleep at night..

What if I do not live in Alaska but I am a native of Alaska do I still get payment from exon oil?

I know they are paying Alaskan natives like 10,000.-- and I know some live in lowwer 48's. And They recieved there Exon oil payment. So how would I go about doing so, Seeing how I am native of Alaska, But do not nor did I ever live there? I know of others in same situtation as me, She said I have to fight for my rights. How do I do so? How do I get my payment? What if I do not live in Alaska but I am a native of Alaska do I still get payment from exon oil?
First of all, they are not ';paying'; ALL natives. It was a class action suit made by 32,000 Alaskan residents. Originally, the suit won more than 2.5 billion, but now the Supreme Court trimmed it down to 500 million already paid. So in other words, you , or the 32,000 people that sued aren't getting a penny.

How are you a native of Alaska, but never lived there? Do you know what ';native'; means? Were you even alive during the spill? There are no others that are in the same ';situation'; as you unless they were involved with the class action suit, otherwise they are just lying to you. And finally, what have YOU done to deserve any kind of payment? It's not your state, and you weren't affected by it. So you wouldn't get anything anyway. The people who sued were directly affected by the spill (property, money loss).

I believe my cat was ran over. She has motor oil on her fur and has been sleeping all day. Will she live?

She came home this morning with motor oil on her and one small cut on her back leg. My daughter is very concerned about her. If she has internal bleeding, how long until she dies? She ate today without a problem. Any input would be helpful and it will put a family at ease.I believe my cat was ran over. She has motor oil on her fur and has been sleeping all day. Will she live?
Its hard to say if she does have any internal bleeding or broken bones. She will suffer a great while before she dies. I highly suggest you get her to vet ASAP to get her looked at and treated or humanely euthanized. I hate to see an animal suffer if they dont need to.I believe my cat was ran over. She has motor oil on her fur and has been sleeping all day. Will she live?
did you take the cat to the vet?

thats the first thing that i would of done if it was my cat.

you should keep a eye on the cat.
It is possible that your cat wandered underneath a car and ended up with oil on her fur. A cut could be from another cat or getting herself caught in a rose bush.

I would make sure you clean off the motor oil before she can lick it off and check to see that she is using her litter box normally. I would call my vet and tell him what you think happened. He may simply tell you to check for any pain in any part of her body and then watch her or he may say that she needs to come in for a check.

You may not need to take her in but you should get your vet's professional opinion on the matter.
Take her to the vet and have her checked out.
She may have just been crawling around under/in a car engine. If you touch her and she shows signs of pain, I would take her to the vet. You might even want to just take her for the cut. She's probably sleeping a lot right now because she got scared or stressed when she got cut. If she is eating, that's a good sign since cats normally don't eat if they are sick or injured. Good luck!
TAKE YOUR CAT TO THE VET NOW!!!!!!!!

DO NOT MAKE YOUR CAT SUFFER WHILE YOU TYPE AWAY ON THE INTERNET!!!!

WOULD YOU WANT TO LAY AROUND INJURED WHILE SOMEONE ELSE TRIED TO DECIDE YOUR FATE BY ASKING UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE HOW LONG YOU WILL LIVE????

    HORRIBLE!
First, I'd remove the motor oil. It can't be good for her to lick that and if it's on her fur, she will try. Then very gently pet your cat all over. If she acts like it hurts, then you should take her to the vet right now. I know it's expensive, but you want to be a good pet owner, and you want to teach your little daughter how to be a good pet owner, and that means getting them medical care when it's needed. IF she seems OK with being gently petted everywhere, then she probably didn't get run over. The cut on her leg suggests she was somehow injured, so do watch her for the next day or so to make sure she's OK.

And in the future, keep your kitty indoors. Outdoor cats don't live nearly as long as indoor only cats. Outdoor cats live less than 5 years, while indoor cats live more than 15. Keep her in a room where she can't dash out the door when you come and go, until she gets used to the idea. She won't like it at first, but she will be much happier and healthier in the long run.
She could have been just sleeping under a car and got the oil on her, the cut could be explained in an reason, she caught herself on the car as she was climing down from the warm motor?

But just to be sure please take her to the vet, she could be under alot of pain, the least you could do was get her checked by a vet.
Mainly you should wash off that cut carefully. Carefull feel her leg gently and see if it hurts her. You should take her to the vet as soon as possible. Sleeping may help her because of the pain from the cut. I know when my kitten fell down the stairs she was limping, after some good naps she was good as new. Good Luck!
she really needs to go to a vet asap. call an emergency clinic. getting hit by a car can leave a wide range of injuries depending on where and how fast it was hit. You can have injuries ranging from nothing to broken bones, ruptured organs, diaphragmatic hernias, punctured lungs ect. Don't risk leaving her in pain. go to a vet.
i'm so sorry! poor baby, please take her to the vet. maybe you'll have a chance of saving her if there is anything wrong with her! good luck!
If I were 25 years experienced as a vet and was looking around and checking these forums and saw your question I would give the same answer as pothole repairman.

Take the cat to the vet that way YOU KNOW for sure.

And update us, if not too much ;)
There is no way to answer this question to put your family at ease.

Take your cat to a vet if you even care about it.
My advice would be to take her to the vet. I know that when I was a kid my cat got ran over and we took her in and found out that she was bleeding. My mom brought her home to die. She lasted about 1 day and part of a night. If she does have internal bleeding let the vet put her down, because you probably don't want your daughter to watch the cat die. I was upset for months because of it.
If she is eating and moving around without visable pain then she is probably fine... be sure to clean the cut and put some antibacterial on it. But if you have any doubt about her health you should take her to the vet....
Take it to the vet... Jeez Louise. How are we to know if it will live. And how are you to know if your cat was actually ran over. It might have crawled up into a car and got a little scratch. You know how cats like to crawl into tight spaces and get trapped. But take it to the veterinarian for x-rays, seriously
she may have just crawled under a car...You shouldn't let your cat wander outdoors anyways
Cats love to get up under the hood and that would be where the oil came from relax she's probably sleeping alot because she was up all night trying to get out or it could be she's just not feeling well from the cut I doubt she got ran over because she would have more than a small cut and where exactly would the oil come from is she were ran over now tire track I could understand but oil doubtful. Watch over your beloved pet and if she shows any signs other than sleepiness then take her to the vet.
If she has internal bleeding then it won't be more than 24 hours but you really should take her to a vet. She may not have been run over though she may have just gotten up under a vehicle and got stuck and cut herself getting free.
TAKE YOUR CAT TO A VET ASAP!
This is what I'd consider a vet emergency, there should be no question about what to do with the cat--have it vet checked!

You won't know what condition the cat is in without her being looked at. Waiting for internal bleeding to finish her off isn't an option.
Was she able to walk okay? Are her claws scuffed, as this a common sign that a cat has been hit by a car. Only a vet will be able to tell you if she has been involved in a traffic accident. Remember that cats are extremely good at hiding pain, so to be on the safe side, you should try to get her checked a.s.a.p.

Better to be on the safe side and have the vet tell you that she probably got oil on her fur from a parked car, than wait till serious symptoms set in.

    Hope she is okay.
She may have just been climbing around in a parked car. It seems very unlikely that there is any major internal damage because she had an appetite. If she continues to be lethargic tomorrow you might want to take her to the vet for a check up.
If she was run over, she'd probably already be dead. She may have gotten under the hood of a car, gotten dirty, and cut her leg on a piece of sharp metal. If she's eating and going to the bathroom okay, just keep an eye on her and if she has problems, see the vet.
I suggest you take the cat to the vet ASAP!
Poor kitty she could have internal injuries take her to the vets she could be in agony and if the cut is not treated properly it will get infected.I pray she doesn't die. If you don't have much money ask the vet if you can pay them in installments, ring up and tell them this is an urgent problem.
We are not vets. Please take her to one. You could save her life. Wouldnt you want to be taken to hospital if you were run over? You owe the poor animal the same.
dude, how about taking her to a vet right now? how would you like if you were run over by a car and no one got you any medical attention? get of Yahho and go to the vet!
Take the cat to the VET
I do suggest taking the baby into see the vet, however just because she has motor oil on her does not mean she got run over, she might have just gotten up under a car and cut her leg that way.I see this alot with the stray cats where I live, they do tend to hide under cars, etc.

I hope your baby will be ok.
I hope this is a joke. What would you do if you were run over by a car? You would likely go to the hospital. Please take her to the nearest emergency vet now instead of waiting around to see if she dies.

Are there any disadvantages or safety concerns with living near an oil and gas well?

a company is trying to drilla gas and oil pump in my neighborhood. they need the permission of the property owners in the area and have come to my home asking for me to sign papers giving an ok. they said that i would get $100 when drilling began and that they never would enter my property. i just want to know if this is a bad thing for the neighborhood or environment. Are there any disadvantages or safety concerns with living near an oil and gas well?
Usually a person or company who has mineral rights does not need your permission to extract the minerals this includes oil and gas. If they really need your permission then it is worth a lot more than $100.

In general, unless you are getting royalties from the well, it is not a good thing. Even if the drilling and completion are uneventful, there are long term risks of equipment failure leading to oil spill, fires and maybe an explosion. I'm not saying these will occur but there is a possibility. Are there any disadvantages or safety concerns with living near an oil and gas well?
Da! Have you ever seen the after affect of a natural gas explosion?Look it up.

Should those living in Arizona be compensated and paid for sharing the Colorado River water like Alaska's oil

Alaska citizens get annual payments for the sale of State owned oil

California and others are trying to get Arizona to share more of its water. Should Arizona citizens be compensated and paid for sharing the water that flows through the State?

    I think they should

We are in a drought, Carl Hayden guaranteed Arizona its water long ago, if we are going to share it - we should be compensated for it!Should those living in Arizona be compensated and paid for sharing the Colorado River water like Alaska's oil
The headwaters of the Colorado River begin high up in the Continental Divide at La Poudre Pass Lake. The Colorado serves to drain over 242,000 square miles -- the bulk of that is off the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains. The grand and Green Rivers are key tributaries of the Colorado river and bring waters from as far north as Wyoming.

The Hoover Dam, which holds the vast majority of the water used to meet regional agricultural and consumer needs, is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, which is under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of the Interior. A federal agency. The Hoover dam's development, construction and operations are all paid for with federal dollars.

As the Colorado Rivers runs through Arizona it picks up very little water from tributaries, runoff, or watershed movement.

Basically, the only thing Arizona provides the Colorado river is a very majestic canyon and a means to reach the Gulf of California.

I can find no single reason that Arizona should be paid ';tribute'; money for having the river cross into the state. Your comparing this to Alaskan oil is an apples-and-oranges analogy.Should those living in Arizona be compensated and paid for sharing the Colorado River water like Alaska's oil
No, the water does not start in Arizona, it comes from Colorado...Utah, Idaho and Montana..Arizona uses the water....if Arizona people would empty all those swimming pools you'd have enough water...
like the guy above said... Arizona residents do not deserve any kick backs,
If that is the case then AZ should be compensating Colorado and Utah where the river flows first!
well i live in michigan and this state is a mess financially. So i would love something that would get us money for everthing the great lakes supply to the rest of the country
What? People screwing each other and fighting over water rights in the Southwest? That's unheard of! What next!
I think Arizona should be penalized for damming the Colorado River and stopping it from running it's natural course so that everyone can get their far share of this resource, instead of hogging it all to themselves.

How would you like it if somebody decided to dam it before it reached Arizona and charge you for what they were prepared to allow to flow into your state
No, I don't think you should be compensated, the same amount of water that flows into the lake should be discharged from the dam.
You are being compensated for your water. Water is the most subsidized commodity in this country.

This is why there are water shortages. No one knows the true cost of water.

Should those living in Arizona be compensated and paid for sharing the Colorado River water like Alaska's oil

Alaska citizens get annual payments for the sale of State owned oil

Yes, I think compensation should be in order.Should those living in Arizona be compensated and paid for sharing the Colorado River water like Alaska's oil
In response to 'Worker Bee', ... and they have too many basketball teams!!
Yes absolutely. I would go so far as to have the great state of California made an independent country. They get water from many more people than AZ. They were filling their swimming pools while a farmer I knew in Idaho had his kids bathing in the same water as each other. They didn't care... Just kept taking. I would like them as a separate country and have to pay for the water they take in the form of treaties. I would like to see all the electricity from the Grand Coulee dam paid for according to their consumption. They ignore federal law as it suits them. They have marijuana shops and sanctuary cities and because of its population they control the feds over the issues of their interest.
Colorado River water is apportioned to the various states and Mexico by national and international agreement. Maybe these agreements need updating. The whole world is running out of water so conservation will need to be practiced by everyone. New ways of obtaining water should be researched including ocean desalination.
So what happens here....each of us gets $.05 a year for sharing water? Maybe we should ALL watch our water usage so there's enough to go around.
Yes, absolutely. Water is more essential resource for living than oil. Without water, people die. Without oil, people may be uncomfortable.
NO WAY! why do people hate California farm land is needed more than desert
no because water is not created or

eliminated. IT is a chemical. H2O.

if AZ needs more, it can store it during rain storms.
No .God put the water there .I don't think anyone should profit from something God gave to everyone. How would you like to be on the paying side of that question. Would you like to be compensated for someone seeing the same stars that you can see over Arizona.

What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? How will they be affected?

The native Americans want drilling, its jobs and good money. They know drilling doesn't pollute the environment because they worked on the oil pipeline and Prudhoe bay. They are currently working on the new Gas pipeline that Governor Palin started to carry natural gas to the lower 48.

Of course the pipeline won`t carry anything if Obama is elected. What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? How will they be affected?
There are many tribes in Alaska besides Eskimos as another poster has referred them all to be. Eskimo is a generic term but there are many different tribes and even many more factions. Some have sold out, others remain obstinate. I'd say its split between natives that are for more raping of the enviroment and those that are against it.What do the Native Americans living in Alaska think about drilling for oil in ANWR? How will they be affected?
SARAH PALIN SAID ON THE NEWS THAT THE FOOTPRINT WERE THEY WANT TO DO THEIR EXPLORATORY DRILLING IS SMALLER THAN THE LAX AIRPORT. SHE ALSO SAID IT WILL NOT AFFECT THE POLAR BEARS AS PREVIOUSLY STATED. ANOTHER CONSIDERATION SHE SPOKE OF WAS THAT THE INITIAL CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT FOR ALASKA'S ADMISSION TO THE U.S. AS A STATE WAS THAT THE RESOURCES ALASKA POSSESSED WERE TO BE EXPLOITED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE U.S. IN THE END DRILLING FOR OIL IN ALASKA RESULTS IN AN INCREASE IN REVENUE FOR THE STATE FROM THE TAX DOLLARS, SO EVERYBODY BENEFITS. LIKEWISE THEY ARE DESIGNING A NEW OIL PIPELINE WHICH WILL CREATE JOBS AND THEREFORE MORE MONEY FROM TAX DOLLARS THAT WILL GO TO THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE STATE.
The royalties from drilling is distributed to residents of Alaska, so it is not just the jobs. Last I heard they got $3200 a year per person, so almost everyone there wants to drill. Palin just increased it from $2000 because with the high price of gas they got more oil revenue.

    http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/lo鈥?/a>
They don't care as long as they get money out of it and the land doesn't get ruined. Eskimos like oil. They like to have heat from oil and gasoline to run their snow mobiles and trucks. Eskimos are realistic.
Most Alaskan's favor drilling, it brings jobs and revenues to the state. This is why Palin has an 80% approval rating in her state.
They like drilling, want the jobs, and appreciate a Governor like Palin that understands economics.
Probably with less unemployment and cheaper gas.
They're all for it. It brings jobs and money into their community

Living near the oil sands in Alberta is dangerous?

I live near Fort McMurray and there's alot of construction because of the oil sands in alberta and now people are saying the oil industry brought rare cancers and diseases?

What if you work for the oil industry?

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/鈥?/a>Living near the oil sands in Alberta is dangerous?
If you work for the oil and gas industry you are provided with PPE (personal protective equipment). The same can't be said for the people who live and work nearby. The increase in cancers is alarming but there is no data regarding the actual cause. It is too early to tell if there is a direct link.Living near the oil sands in Alberta is dangerous?
Sadly, exposure to chemicals, even at very low levels over time, has a cumulative effect; thus, I am not surprised to hear that there are more medical incidents in a heavily industrial area.

Of course, as individual, we also voluntary expose ourselves to chemicals, such as smoking. In fact, the risk of living near Fort McMurray probably pale in comparison to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.

So, as we know there is no free lunch, the workers or the local communities pay a price to refine the oil (i.e. shorten expected life span). The real question is - Is that price justified based on overall society good?

My husband got some oil based paint on the laminate floor in the living room.?

He was going to use paint thinner to get it off, but I managed to get it off with a little elbow grease. Is it OK to kick his a**?My husband got some oil based paint on the laminate floor in the living room.?
i woul not be happyMy husband got some oil based paint on the laminate floor in the living room.?
yea....if you dont want him to do anymore handy work around the house
Yes. And then ask him why you should keep him around if he can't do the handy work.
I could tell you im sure it was an accident and you already bruised his ego by proving his idea wrong. (Im a guy and would have use the paint thinner.) But now what kind of fun would that be. KICK IT

Is it worth moving to Florida because the cost of living in Massachusetts and the price of oil is so high?

Thinking about moving to Central Florida. Is it worth moving to Florida because the cost of living in Massachusetts and the price of oil is so high?
Yes. Taxes, rents and others neccisities of life will be less costly than Mass. Except that do not move to the south, wester coastline. Move up North from Tampa to avoid those storms. Is it worth moving to Florida because the cost of living in Massachusetts and the price of oil is so high?
I dont think its gonna be much better there besides the scenary.

Yummy mummies to be, lathering up on the stetch mark cream and oil, living in a sports bra, is anyone else?

super paronoid about those dreaded stretch marks appearing? What are you doing to help prevent? boob sag is also a big worry lol trying to keep them strapped in, 15 weeks tomorrow xxYummy mummies to be, lathering up on the stetch mark cream and oil, living in a sports bra, is anyone else?
Dont bother with the bloody creams lol, I use olive oil and a nursing bra and my boobs are bad but my tummys smooth as 29 weeks xYummy mummies to be, lathering up on the stetch mark cream and oil, living in a sports bra, is anyone else?
Honestly, if you are going to get stretch marks, your going to get them no matter what you do. Some women are lucky to never get any. Other women are not so lucky.

Also, I believe the sagging falls in the same category. If its gonna happen, its gonna happen. But a good properly fitted bra does probably help. I got stretch marks with my son, but no sagging and I am a DD.

Also, my midwife told me to never wear a bra at night when breastfeeding as it can increase the chance of getting mastitis.

    All the best though!!
I keep my boobies in a bra just about 24/7, but it's b/c they hurt for the whole pregnancy so far. (luckily it's easier now that I'm 13 weeks). My mom warned me that she stretch marks bad, so I will too. I've been using generic cocoa and shea butter body wash and lotion.

    Hope it helps us both!
Following the lead of Sophia Loren (fabulous looking film star), I smothered myself in olive oil every night!

It worked - not a single stretch mark and much cheaper than the proprietary creams, which don't!
Try bio oil, i used it when i was pregnant, i didnt get any and i was massive, x
it doesn't matter how much you cream up if your going to get them your going to get them
I did that and still got them... around 33 weeks they showed up but are hardly noticeable a year later
its a spectator sport for me but i think a fight against gravity is a noble quest

  • What if I do not live in Alaska but I am a native of Alaska do I still get payment from exon oil?

If you say that oil has made it possible for you to live in an way that is better than before it, then?

how do you know what you left behind that is so bad? If 35 percent of the West's transportation requirements were horse and buggy, bycycle only, in which area of the country would you want to live? I know you need to live there first to decide, but if you can imagine a realistic Western U.S., you would realize that you are dealing with property which should never belong in Spirit to the East. This minimum investment is not now obtainable due to your current administration, etc.. It is such a pity for Americans to lose their country because of greed. Good LuckIf you say that oil has made it possible for you to live in an way that is better than before it, then?
Sorry, I did not live in the horse-and-buggy days. Did you?

All I know is fossil fuel consumption, which I try to minimize by taking public transit and recycling.

    Do you?

America must drill (domestic oil) or kill is there another choice. I live in Alaska and no one lives in ANWR.?

I agree we need to do something. China is drilling 60 miles off the Gulf Coast and you know those veins are running in our direction. We can not continue with this Ethanol innovation because it is ruining the global food chain. People are really starting to hate us because they are starving and we are growing corn for freakin gas. We need to start drilling in the ANWAR, east coast, west coast and gulf cost until we can position ourselves with a GOOD innovation.America must drill (domestic oil) or kill is there another choice. I live in Alaska and no one lives in ANWR.?
I'm also an Alaskan resident (currently stationed in PA with the military), I think they should be able to drill as long as strict environmental standards are worked into the authorization. Get the EPA and the Coast Guard in on it and work to minimize the environmental impact. People said the same kind of things about the pipeline, but thats been a tremendous success without any major impact on the environment.America must drill (domestic oil) or kill is there another choice. I live in Alaska and no one lives in ANWR.?
Not drilling in ANWR isn't about protecting human life, it's about preserving nature.

The other choice is the old American standby of INNOVATION.

But, conservatives don't like innovation because it endangers the profits of old school businesses who don't want to have to actually abide by market forces.
Why not try to go with something that doesn't require oil???

I know, I know, its far fetched... I mean Brazil and Germany are in the process of doing that.... so I wouldn't imagine America doing that as well.

There are many vehicles out there running on grease from MCDs and on hydrogen. There was one I saw that ran on AIR!!! I think there are alternatives than having to go use oil. There is wind and water that are always available to us and don't pollute the air. Go Figure!
Do you know what grade is underground?

Do you know how much is there?

Do you plan on having a refinery in your state?

Do you know how long it will take to build a ';SECURE'; pipe line from the wellhead to the refinery that you will build?

Do you really want to endanger the pristine land that you are endangering?
If we drill, we still will kill. The drilling will most likely done by the British oil company BP, and the oil will last maybe 15 years while providing about 5% of our oil supply. While that's nothing to sneeze it, it's not really the answer to anything in the long term.
yeah, walk, take a bus, cycle.

Also, support research in alternative fuels.

ANWR- beautiful, one of the few untouched natural areas. wildlife. it shouldnt be destroyed.
We have been drilling and pumping oil up here in Alaska since 1977. The wildlife do not have any problems with it. We don't have enough oil to satisfy all the needs and wants of the USA.
I lived in Alaska for years too - in fact during the years it was devastated by Exxon Valdez. ANWR doesn't need to be ruined by man.
No one lives in the ANWR? No humans, you mean. It wouldn't be much of a Wildlife Refuge if there were a huge oil-drilling place there.
the liberals say no to ANWR but you just wait and see if we get a liberal president they will chang their mind and take the credit for lower gas prices
Drilling in ANWR would take a best a decade to produce any meaningful result. Not much of a plan.
    I'm on board of drilling.

Did you know there's oil under the Great Lakes, too?

Canada is drilling it right now.
what about the caribou and the bears lol . i agree this country will have to start drilling for more oil in Alaska
Drill or kill? Haha... those aren't the choices.
Do you honestly think that liberals care what people in Alaska actually think?
i'm a democrat who agrees my party is wrong on this issue
57% of federal land with an oil reserve (very large ones at that) are open for full drilling....

Why do they need more land to drill on when they aren't utilizing 57% of the land available right now?

First it was regulations, then it was lack of land and now they are blaming ethanol....

When will we start to figure out they are just gouging us? Profits per gallon refined have doubled.........so those restrictions and regulations couldn't have been too bad.

Yeah, we ship corn all over the world for food....(not really, its used in feed for mammals that used for food, and they even less efficient than plants). Its not ethanol....its the price of oil, it drives the commodities market. Do some research on it.

As for off-shore drilling, I more than understand the issue there, but if other nations are going to be engaging in the practice I think we not only owe it to Americans to do the same, but also to the world. We can do it cleaner, more ethically and more efficient than China or Cuba. Not to mention, we aren't helping China by inaction.

Oil has several other uses than transportation. Its used to make plastics, would you like to have a wooden computer? If you say that oil has made it possible for you to live in an way that is better than before it, then?
HUH???? What you say makes no sense, partly because it is not a question and partly because it is a poorly crafted attempt at a political opinion.

Do you realize that if you live in New England and heat with heating oil, your bill could be as high as.......

$5,000 this winter? Also, if you heat with natural gas ( no matter where you live ), your bill will likely rise about 75 percent. In other words, if you had a monthly bill of $150 last winter, you can expect that same bill to rise about $260 this winter. So, brace yourselves...!Do you realize that if you live in New England and heat with heating oil, your bill could be as high as.......
That's why I moved down south!Do you realize that if you live in New England and heat with heating oil, your bill could be as high as.......
Do you realize predictions like this have been made EVERY year that you have been alive?

Do you realize the predictions are ALWAYS wrong?

Do you realize if congress would open ALL Federal land for ALL forms of energy production, the price of ALL forms of energy would drop significantly?

Did you notice that after President Bush lifted the Executive Order banning offshore oil exploration and asking Congress to lift their ban, the price of oil on the world market dropped 10% in 48 hours? That occurred without a single drop of oil actually being pumped.
Why, yes, I *do* realize that -- thanks so much for reminding me about such things on this hot, humid July day!

(That's why I'm stocking up on plenty of firewood and flannel sheets before September!)
So, you voted for the liberals, let them solve it. You can get a pipe stove, it cuts costs a lot. Wear sweaters.

  • Living near the oil sands in Alberta is dangerous?

I live near Fort McMurray and there's alot of construction because of the oil sands in alberta and now people are saying the oil industry brought rare cancers and diseases?

What if you work for the oil industry?
