Do you use synthetic motor oil if you live in a colder climate?

Here in Alaska most of us use synthetic oils in the winter. It makes for better start ups and longer engine life.Do you use synthetic motor oil if you live in a colder climate?
Synthetic motor oil is both better in hot and cold climates. If you read the comparison sheet between Mobil1, 5W-30 and Mobil Drive Clean 7,000 mile regular oil you'll see that Mobil1 flows at -52 degrees Farenheit while the regular non-synthetic Drive Clean flows at -36 degrees Farenheit. It's always to your advantage for the oil pump to force a greater volume of oil to critical frictional surfaces as quickly as possible. During cold starts is where 80% of all engine wear occurs.

The complete additive package in full synthetic oil is superior to regular oil.

I live in a hot climate but if I understand your question the answer is, ';yes';. Use the same weight as you do when you use conventional oil.
Absolutely, it flows right away at a cold start, protecting your engine.
