The brand new fans are very noisy and I thought needed oil and all I had at hand was olive oil spray which worked fairly well but then my daughter asked if they would spontaneously combust due to the heat of the fan. And the more I thought the more worried I became. Thoughts?I live in a poor country with no WD40. I used olive oil to lubricate my Chinese fans. Will they now combust?
No, it won't combust but it's not very good as a lubricant. In time it will get on the sticky side and slow the fan.
