Does anybody think they can or do they even want to live without oil and coal mass polluting our planet?

Because we do have the intelligence to replace these dirty fuels but without people demanding it nothing will change...Does anybody think they can or do they even want to live without oil and coal mass polluting our planet?
MY dear friend, it is not the fact that we demand it or not.

We use it for our daily activities, it is part of our casual needs. Numerous instruments, cars, and artifacts have been made to replace the old models, since, as you stated, we DO have technology to replace it. Look at these statements below...

- We have reached the mars... MARS!!!

- We have made cybernetic prprosthetic arms and legs and connected it to the nervous system of a human being, enabling them to move their arm and feel through it... yeah, just like in the movies... look it up if you want to...

- We are able to transfer information through a saSatelliten seconds, I mean.. instantly, from 1 corner of the world, to another...

- We successfully created a debvice, smaller than a human being, capable of destroying a whole country...

- And we still use oil to propel our cars... lol.

The thing is, that oil companies make the laws, how? They pay lobbyists to go to congress parties around the world, to pay and endorse politicians, and force them to make laws to their bidding. E.G. Hey, I will help you with $1,000,000.0 in your political campaign, or with your current proyects, if you endorse this law, that will keep my oil company running.

These dirty bastards are the root of our society's problem. I personally believe that lobbying should be illegal, but since they got lot's of $ to pay the politicians, who make the laws, it will not happen anytime soon my friend...

In the end, big, oil producers, prevent projects such as non oil consuming cars to evolve. There was once a whole electric car, made by mitsubishi I believe... The product even got out to the market, it seems as if it somehow slipped through the oil companie's grasp... Somehow, Shell and other huge oil companies, managed to get ahold of the project, they bought ALL the models that were out in the dealers, and the project... mysteriously dissappeared... Google or search: Who Killed The Electric Car... You will get angry... but what can we do...

Obama, Mccain, they can barely do anything about it, you cant blame it on them, if not on those damn lobbyists, and congressmen that bend to their will....

You share my same idea, but right now, there ar enot enough people that think like us, some day, and I hope it is in my lifetime, more people will, and we may end this idiocy...

Hope I helped mate...Does anybody think they can or do they even want to live without oil and coal mass polluting our planet?
We DO NOT have the intelligence to replace these ';dirty fuels';. Many third-world and developing countries rely on oil and coal for energy. Are you suggesting we let more than 1 billion people revert to living in huts and dying of simply curable disease that could be treated if they had hospitals run on coal electricity? Or that tens of millions of coal-miners, plant workers, people who work at oil refineries and such should just lose their jobs? There is definitely not a feasible enough energy source ot there to replace oil to run our cars. Would the world have to revert to a 1700s era? (We started using coal early in the 1800s with steamboats) Once we have the right technologies that are cheap enough, we will change, but until then present technology and capitalism will prevail.

(Yay capitalism! It made America what it is today, and if you think America sucks, then move to Russia you commie)
Power plants and other manufactures are the main carbon emitters, until they switch over to another power source what we do would be to minute to make a big enough change. Gasoline powered devices are not the things we should blame. It is just the fact that too many people in the world are relying on the same source of energy.

To call a gasoline engine bad is just like calling you respiratory system bad. You take in oxygen and emit carbon dioxide also.
