Since the USA owns the ANWR oil, can we all get it at a discount?

The US Government owns it. It costs about $10 / barrel to get it out and delivered. Give the oil company a $5 / barrel profit and we should pay about $15 a barrel. Right?Since the USA owns the ANWR oil, can we all get it at a discount?
Huh, in our dreams.

You know the oil companies wouldn't be able to pass up a golden opportunity to gouge their fellow citizens. Maybe they would discount it to, say, $125 a barrel, down from $136 on the open market, but $15???

Even easier, they could sell from their reserves. They have millions of barrels ready to go, so their cost basis is relatively small compared to stuff they are drilling today. But sadly, in the world of Big Oil, profits go before people, so that people suffer with thousand dollar heating bills.

And the best part is that they get to blame the Liberals and the gullible fools in America believe them! What a racket!!!Since the USA owns the ANWR oil, can we all get it at a discount?
NOPE

No discount, when it is going to be exported and sold at world market prices.

If supply was the real problem, we could fix it just by stopping all exports of it.
To bad Clinton vetoed that bill, now we can't even get it period. Environmental lobbyists paid him big.
